This past weekend was the Spring Equinox!
Woohoo, summer is on it's way! Michael and I went with a few friends to a bonfire on a beach in Anchorage. The beach up here is a little different than a North Carolina beach!
haha! We had to walk about a mile and then go down a pretty steep hill to get to the water. There is still plenty of snow on the ground but it is slowly melting! We took the dogs out with us and they loved it!
The area where we had the fire is near the mudflats. These mudflats are like quicksand and you have to be careful around the flats. We stayed on the hard ground in the snow! No quicksand for us! (The mountain range in the background of this photo is the
Talkeetna Mountain range).

Michael works in the valley which is about 45 minutes north from Anchorage. Michael has a gorgeous drive to and from work everyday! This is one of the views!

There are TONS of American Bald Eagles up here in Alaska. This eagle was actually hanging out at the McDonald's parking lot! He was craving some
Mickey D's french fries! I hear you baldy!
